Albert Mazibuko, retired member of world-renowned South African A Cappella group, Ladysmith Black Mambazo has passed away at the age of 77.

The group’s manager Xolani Majozi has confirmed that Mazibuko left us today morning after battling an undisclosed illness.

Mazibuko who is also known as the “Liberian” and custodian of the group’s history joined Ladysmith Black Mambazo in 1979 and has a musical career spanning over five decades.

The group is currently on tour in the United States of America.
