President Donald Trump is caught up in another controversy as he enters Insults-war with former special employee Elon Musk. The last days of Musk at the White House has seen him seriously speak against some of Trump’s domestic policies.
Both billionaires have been using their platforms to bombard each other with name calling and allegations since Thursday, so much that the situation has gotten the rest of the world to wonder how Trump and Musk forged their relationship from the start.
The Rift
It all began when Trump stated he his disappointed with Musk for criticising his Spending Bill and Centrepiece Tax which Musk believes can send America into recession in the long run. The Spending Bill will cost America $2.4tn over 10 years and may leave nearly 11 million people without government-backed health insurance.
Mister Musk did not take it lightly, he called Trump ungrateful and reminded him who is the real boss. Musk made clear that without him, Trump would have never become president again.
There is a saying that when two elephants fight, it is the grass that suffers. But in this case, when two billionaires fight it is the the public that share laughter.
Mister Musk spent approximately $290M to get Trump back into office last year in July just right after the assassination attempt on his life. That is the when Trump and Musk became best buddies and Musk started hanging out at the White House, standing next Mister President during key decision making processes.
Musk also spent 129 days at Department of Government Efficiency (Doge), which he claims has saved America $180b. He also deceived Trump into believing that there is an ongoing ‘White Genocide’ in South Africa.
While we were all sleeping in Africa, Musk decide to post the tweet below, accusing Trump of being an accomplice to late Jeffery Epstein.
Trump responded on his Truth network writing that Musk just went mad because of his post: “The easiest way to save money in our Budget, Billions and Billions of Dollars, is to terminate Elon’s Governmental Subsidies and Contracts. I was always surprised that Biden didn’t do it!”
While Musk had earlier threatened to stop the Dragon spacecraft project, he later came back to say Trump should remain calm and promised the Dragon project will not be decommissioned.
Musk’s war with Trump has caused Tesla stock to drop by 14% in just a few hours. It appears that the X, SpaceX, Starlink and Tesla boss has much to loose than Mister President.
