In Africa, most people interested in world politics have concluded that the United States of America (USA) is ran by a delusional president who boycotted the first ever Group Twenty (G20) summit hosted in Johannesburg, South Africa from 22 to 23 November 2025 because he believes there is an extermination of white people in the country.
Over the weekend, leaders and citizens from 42 countries attended the G20 summit with the conspicuous absence of USA president Donald Trump who still has a strong hold on the discredited idea that white persons in South Africa are being mistreated.
G20 members include the world’s major economies, representing 85% of global Gross Domestic Product, over 75% of international trade, and about two-thirds of the world population.
The world leaders in attendance emphasised on the urgent need of increased efforts towards climate change mitigation and the creation of an equal economic opportunity platform for member states through multilateral co-operation.
The declaration of Multilateralism was reached in hopes that it will ease collective performance between member states when handling improvement strategies.
“We see this as a platform that affirms multilateralism. Multilateralism has served the world very well since the second world war and this platform is affirming that,” said South Africa’s Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Ronald Lamola.
During the event in South Africa, leaders also discussed possibilities of restoring peace in countries like Sudan, Cameroon and others where thousands of lives have been lost and properties damaged due to war.
World leaders and all who attended the G20 summit or watched from a distance have applauded president Cyril Ramaphosa, the government of South Africa and the organising committee for a job well done in hosting the event.
No one was bothered about USA president, Trump’s absence which has been perceived as an attempt to sabotage the event.
The presidential handover ceremony which was scheduled to take place on Sunday, November 23 2025 did not take place because Mister Trump decided to ruin the event.
Since Trump did not attend the G20 summit and has decided to send is his shameless junior staff to partake in the handover ritual, beloved president Ramaphosa responded with a decline.
Africans across social media are hailing president Ramaphosa’s decision to refuse having the handover of presidency ceremony with a low level staff such as USA’s Deputy Chief of Mission to South Africa, Marc D. Dillard.
Before assuming the office of presidency on December 01 2025, USA will have come up with a plan and communicate it via the South African Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation if they deem the handover ceremony necessary to take place.
If the handover ceremony does not take place, Trump’s disgraceful act of boycotting the G20 summit held in Johannesburg will remain a record in world history while USA will still host the event next year at his Florida golf course.
The G20 gathering in South Africa is the twentieth meeting. The previous three were hosted in Brazil, India and Indonesia over the past three years.
