A group of Pro-Palestinian protesters booed and chased off Israeli ambassador, Yuval Waks from Cheik Anta Diop University (UCAD) campus in Dakar, capital city of Senegal.

In a video circulating on X (former Twitter), a group of students who appeared disgusted by Waks’s presence can be seen waving flags and chanting ‘Free Palestine’ while Waks is being escorted to his car by security guards.

Waks was scheduled to speak on international relations practices at the university which is Senegal’s largest and most prestigious institutions but did not not get a warm welcome from the students who viewed Israel ‘s Waks as a threat to democracy.

Israel is facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for war crimes against Palestinian civilians. Since October 2023, 54000 Palestinians, mostly women and children have lost their lives to Israel offensive attacks.

Known as one of worst humanitarian crisis in history, state and private properties such schools, , business centers, churches and hospitals in Palestine have also been damaged. Since March 2025, Israel has closed all roads to Gaza through which food and medical aid can be received.

All calls on Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to cease fire has “fallen on deaf ears” as the rest world continue to watch the city of Gaza, women, children, the elderly perish and their belongings perish.
