President Boko Duma has declared September 29 2025 a public holiday after Botswana men’s athletics team win 4 x 400m relay gold medal at the Tokyo 2025 World Athletics Championships on the 21st September 2025.

SUDAN

A drone attack in Sudan on September 19 2025 killed 78 civilians including all patients at the targeted Saudi Hospital in El Fasher, capital city of North Darfur. Conflict between the Sudanese army and the RSF, which escalated in April 2023 has caused death of 20,000 people and displaced 14 million.

SOUTH AFRICA

The South African Police Service (SAPS) on September 20 2025 uncovered a crystal meth lab worth approximately $20m. Five suspects of North America origin were arrested while two other fled the scene.

Rose Mnisi, a 39 years old hospital cleaner from Mpumalanga province was arrested in the own of Lydenburg, during a police patrol for procession of human placentas. She appeared in court on September 19 2025 and is yet to respond to the charges.
