
BENIN: Coup attempt against president Talon

Soldiers have appeared on Benin’s state television today to announce the removal of president Patrice Talon and all government institutions. The group known as Committee for Refoundation led by Lt. Col. Pascal Tigri accuse president Talon who has been in power for 10 years of authoritarianism. Reports reaching Critique Africa indicates that government military is regaining control.
Sudan: Kindergarten drone attack leaves 50 people dead

A drone attack on a kindergarten in the town of Kalogi in South Central Sudan has left 50 people dead including 33 children. Paramilitary group, Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has been blamed for the December 04 2025 incident and escalating violence in South Sudan.
Eritrea: Government release prisoners without judgment

Thirteen people have been released after being held in a military prison for eighteen years without trial. They were not allowed visitation from family and well wishers throughout the period of detention. The prisoners were arrested on October 2007 following an assassination attempt on Colonel Simon Gebredingil, a senior internal security officer in President Isaias Afwerki’s government.
RWANDA AND DRC PEACE DEAL

President Paul Kagame of Rwanda and president Felix Tshisekedi of Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) have signed a peace deal in Washington, USA during a summit hosted by president Donald Trump on December 04 2024. The deal brings an end to the ongoing conflict in eastern DRC involving M23 and the DRC military.
SOUTH AFRICA: 12 die after mass shooting

At least 12 people including a three years old child, 12-year-old-boy and a 16-year-old-girl have died after a shooting incident at an illegal bar in the city of Pretoria, South Africa. South African Police Service (SAP) has launched a manhunt for the unidentified suspects. The killings occurred on December 06 2025.

France and United Kingdom embassies, human rights organisations and everyone concerned have began mounting pressure on president Samia Hassan’s government to release dead bodies of protesters killed during the October 2025 election to their families.
