DRC Military Court sentence former president Joseph Kabila who ruled from 2001 to 2019 to death in absentia. He is accused of war crimes, syphoning public funds and siding with March 23 Movement (M23) in an attempt to overthrow president Felix Tshisekedi’s government.
MADAGASCAR

Thousands of citizen have taken taken the streets in Madagascar in a Gen Z led protest. People of the Indian Ocean island are fade up with poor governance and demand president Andry Rajoelina must leave power. At least 22 people have been killed.
MOROCCO

In Morocco, protesters are also demanding a better life from their government. A group called Gen Z 212 that is leading the demonstrations believe government should use money being invested in building stadiums to improve healthcare in the country.
NIGERIA

Abuja Federal High Court has dismissed a suit challenging the six months suspension of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan. She was suspended on March 6 2025 for misconduct after refusal to sit on her assigned seat in the senate.

Dignitaries from around Africa gathered yesterday to kickstart the E1 Grand Prix in Lagos. The event portrays a unique blend of sports, technology, entertainment, and has brought more admiration to Lagos city known for its flair in hosting world-class events. The final race takes place today.
SOUTH AFRICA

On Friday, October 03 2025, Constitutional Court of South Africa ruled that all parents of new-born babies are entitled to parental leave. Fathers will now receive 10 days of leave while women will continue getting four months.

On October 1 2025, Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) party leader Julius Malema was found guilty on charges related to firearm discharge during the party’s fifth anniversary celebrations in 2018 in the Eastern Cape province. Sentencing has been postponed to January 2026.

On September 30 2025, South Africa’s ambassador to France was found dead in Hyatt hotel in Paris just moments after he was reported missing by his wife. Government of South Africa has deployed investigators to probe his death.

On October 1 2025, Robert Mugabe Junior was arrested in Harare Central for breaking traffic law by driving on the opposite side of the road and for possession of drugs. Three other men linked to him were also arrested during a joint operation. Police recovered 25 sachets of cannabis and six ecstasy pills. Law enforcement suspect that Mugabe Junior may be part of a peddling syndicate.
