Two Ghanaian ministers and six others die in helicopter crash

Ghana’s ministers of defence and environment have been reported dead along with six others after their military helicopter crashed in the central region of Ashanti region.

Julius Deborah, Chief of Staff told the press that Defence minister Edward Omane Boamah and Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, minister of Environment, Science and Technology were killed during the crash.

The aircraft which took off from Accra, capital of Ghana at around 9:12am heading to the town of Obuasi for a national event carrying 8 passengers was said to have gone off radar by officials of Ghana’s armed forces.

The exact cause of the crash has not been confirmed. This incident has been described by government and citizens of Ghana as a big loss to the country
