In an effort to discredit rival political parties, Alwan Hassan, Spokesperson of All Progressives Congress (APC) party Presidential Campaign Council, tells Arise News host Charles Aniagolu that ministers in Nigeria are the most corrupt individuals in the government.

During his appearance on Arise News Prime Time on Thursday, October 22, 2026, Hassan alleged that ministers in Nigeria pay billions of Naira in bribes to be appointed over course of the 22 minutes video. Such a revelation from a politician of the ruling party is truly unexpected.

When questioned by Aniagolu about allegations that the state house in Abuja is being used for APC private affairs instead of serving the interest of Nigerians, Hassan retorted that if the opposition were to win the presidential seat, they could open the palace to the public. Hassan’s response reinforced public opinion that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration lacks empathy.

During the 2023 presidential campaign, the APC manifesto promised constant electricity, yet many Nigerian households still lack power.

On paper, Hassan claims that 287 primary schools have been renovated, with about 4000 classrooms, but it is clear that schools are in a very poor condition throughout Nigeria.

Despite the failing interview, Hassan started boasting about some APC accomplishments, including 16 good schools in his constituency and payment of about 900m Naira (approximately $675,828.00 USD) in backlog pension funds.

Towards the end of the interview Hassan who remained visibly unprepared, lost his composure and asserted that ministers are the most corrupt individuals in Nigeria’s government, suggesting that ministerial positions be abolished.
