Residents of Limbola village, South West province of Cameroon are demanding that Dangote Quarry be removed.

The people claim that the Dangote Cement Cameroon mining site is constructed over their loved ones’ graves.

Some families have dug up their relatives and found new ground to rebury them because the quarry’s construction has covered the ancestral cemetery with sand. Some villagers have been made homeless as a result of the site development, which also poses a threat to neighboring dwellings.

The villagers are accusing Dangote Cement Cameroon of collaborating with dishonest City Council officials in the ongoing land grabbing for industrial developments. A misconduct that has caused severe community opposition, raised environmental problems, and drastically changed rural livelihoods.

While they wait for government officials to take action and stop Dangote Cement Cameroon, which has decimated them, the demonstrators have blocked entrance to the construction site.
