Citizens in Cameroon and South Africa, two countries separated by nearly 4,350 kilometres share a similar sentiment as a result of the recent killings of women.

In Cameroon, about 18 women have been reported killed in the past three weeks by their male partners, while in South Africa the remains of nine murdered females were discovered in areas near Johannesburg city, according police press release statements.

Cameroonians and South Africans are urging their governments to establish special tribunals to deal with cases involving the murders and abuse or children, women, and vulnerable members of society. They also want harsh punishments such as the death sentence to be reintroduced.

While the perpetrators of this horrible crime in Cameroon have been arrested by the members of the Gendamerie, South African Police Service is still investigating and has initiated a manhunt for the killer or individuals involved in the murders.
